The Event

As part of the i Light Marina Bay Festival 2016, Yoga in The Mix,  will be hosting two consecutive nights of yoga, music and lights.

1. MIND AND BODY FLOW - Wednesday 16th March - 7pm

Flow to a range of deep and nourishing stretches that will unlock your inner zen. Blending gentle and restorative poses you will flow through a series of postures to relaxing beats - linking your breath with your movement and calming your mind. Focus on bringing awareness to all the sensations in the body, promote inner peace and unwind.

2. UNLOCK YOUR FIRE - Thursday 17th March – 7pm

Be prepared to release your inner fire and let go. Fire is a fluid dance of yoga postures, linked by breath, to build strength, flexibility, balance and most of all create space in the body. Composed of heat-building poses the up-tempo sound will build up your energy and create a dynamic dance between your mind and body.

Simply put, Selva means jungle in Portuguese. We are a food collective based in Singapore and Sao Paulo. We are committed to sourcing for the best produce from South America and to share this with South East Asia. One of our first products is our organic premium açaí blend. Made only with raw açaí pulp, coconut sugar and a touch of lime.

Açaí (ah-sigh-ee) berries, hailed as one of the top superfoods and found in the Amazonian rainforest, have one of the highest ORAC measures (antioxidant levels) around – in fact, they’ve 4-6 times that of blueberries. Low in GI for sustained energy release, high in dietary fibre, loaded with essential Omegas 3, 9 and a great source of amino acids, protein, calcium, iron, magnesium and other vitamins and minerals.

The seed for Juice Junkie was planted in the US. Our founders were amazed at how big the juicing trend was becoming. Being curious bunnies, they tried a juice cleanse. It was love at first sip! Soon, they couldn’t stop themselves from putting cold-pressed juices into their grocery baskets at Whole Foods. The juices didn’t just taste good; they made them feel good. Returning to Singapore, their need to share their healthy passion grew (along with the intensity of their withdrawal symptoms).

The rest, as they say, is history. “We believe it is all about making small changes towards a healthier lifestyle. True health cannot be achieved overnight; it is the result of a conscious lifestyle choice. We encourage you to have a juice every day and make a change for life.”

The Sound

Spinning the tracks on the night Dj Alexis Rawkin' will be playing at Yoga In The Mix. Born in 1983 when David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” played in every club, Alexis Rawkin’ lived close to the Belgian border, where he soon discovered House music. He started spinning records in 1998 when the French electronic music scene was gradually taking over the music world and met DJ Janick, a House and Hip-hop deejay resident at the Jaguar club that brought him his first residency and opened the door for gigs at the most prestigious clubs like Café d’Anvers in Belgian or Avalon in Singapore. Alexis has spinned with DJs and groups like Swedish House Mafia (Virgin/EMI), Ludovic LLorca (Fcom/Brique Rouge), Thinktwice (Fcom), David Duriez (Brique Rouge), PO (Missive), Offset (Missive), A Jackin Freak (Polyphonics).
Parties, friendships with other DJs and a true love for music pushed him to found the crazy-up.com project in the early 2000′s, an electronic music and lifestyle portal covering Belgium, France and the United Kingdom while pursuing his career as a DJ. In 2004, he launched the POP! parties in the north of France with his friend and DJ Kaüna, bringing to Lille a roster of underground electro artists from France and Belgium.
